Project 2 Room and Narrative

My concept it to in cooperate the differences of these two painting from Edward Copper.
1. Light VS Space
2. Morning VS Night
3. Private VS Public

The space I designed has created 2 space which represent each painting. The strange angular shape of the whole model is to show the uncertain, stressful, and the lost feeling inside a big city, like New York. This is the very first sense I got from the two paintings.

For the space at the outer part facing out, is a very small room with a wide window. It just like the feeling which the artist wanna show in the Morning Sun. The lady in the picture shows the loneliness, sad and confusion. It shows how people inside the room and look out from a small room outside to a big vision. The space is slightly facing upward because this can let the room has more sunlight getting in showing the morning sun. This room is suppose to be a very private place, so only a staircase at the back can get into it.

For the space facing inward is a space design for a bar. It is facing inward because this is representing a night pub, which doesn't suppose to have much sunlight. It also create a quite place for people having drinks. As it is a public space, I use a semi transparent wall for this space. Also the whole space is not fully enclose.
